Chilean Students Disguised As Tourists Crash Presidential Palace
Who doesn't like a little dress up?
Earlier this week, Chilean students disguised themselves as tourists clad in baseball caps and booked it passed the guards into the Presidential palace. They were protesting the country’s privatized education system, and the slowness of the government to implement policy that could make education free for all students.
Chilean youth (I’m talking as young as ten years old sometimes) have been known to throw down in the streets against austerity, take hold of their schools in what they call ‘toma’ (takeovers), and fight with the military presence in their cities. So, you could call this little action just another day at the office for ’em.
